The territorial Police of Kiruhura district is investigating a double homicide by shooting in Rugaga trading Centre Kikatsi sub county Nyabushozi Kiruhura district,where Private Niwamanya Dickens,27,attached to the Special Forces Command-SFC Commando Brigade in Ruhengyere shot his lover dead.
The incident occured on 5th April 2022 at 3pm when Dickens found his lover Kamarembo Patience,a bar operator in Rugaga trading centre, shot her thrice in the chest killing her instantly, and later turned the gun on himself,shooting himself in the head.
According to Rwizi region police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira,the cause of the double homicide has not been ascertained but the bodies have been taken to Kiruhura Health center IV for postmortem.
The murder weapon,an SMG (AK47) has also been recovered from the scene of crime and inquiries into the incident are still ongoing.
Rise News Uganda has established that the soldier hails from Nyamuniga village Kihanga Paris Buhunga sub county Rukungiri district.
