UGX37 MILLION ROBBED FROM WAVE MONEY TRANSFER EMPLOYEES

Police in Isingiro district western Uganda is investigating circumstances under which Ugx 37 million was robbed from Wave Money Transfer Uganda employees while in transit to distribute float to their agents.









Three suspects that have so far been arrested include Nkurunziza Kuteesa Joram, Bukenya Bashir and Kakungulu Hassan Mulangira who were part of the assailants that intercepted Wave Money Transfer Uganda employees’ vehicle at Nshungyezi along Isingiro-Kikagate road. The assailants who were in motor vehicle Mark-X UBK 535T black pepper-sprayed the Wave Money Transfer employees in the eyes and made off with the money.







ASP Samson Kasasira has confirmed the incident.

The Rwizi Regional police spokesperson, ASP Samson Kasasira has confirmed that the incident was reported at Kikagate Police Station at 10:20/c yesterday, Friday 11/11/2022 and police in the entire region was alerted. At 11:20/c, police was able to intercept the assailants at Kabobo in Endinzi along Isingiro-Kitwe-Ntungamo road recovering Ugx13, 473,500/= of the stolen money and a forged number plate UBJ 175C in the assailants’ motor vehicle. Security is now hunting for another suspect identified as Twinamatsiko Denis who managed to escape, as investigations also continue.




The business community and entire public have been asked to be vigilant and careful to fight such incidents.
