The State House Anti-corruption Unit in liaison with police have today, Friday November 11, 2022 arrested and arraigned six teachers to the Kanungu Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Forgery & Uttering False Documents.
The suspects including 5 male and 1 female have been using forged documents to teach in government-aided institutions like Nyakatare technical institute, Bishop Comboni College and Kihiihi High School. They allegedly forged appointment letters and posting instructions purportedly signed by the Ministry of Education & Sports and Education Service Commission.
They all together caused government a loss of Ugx500 million in salaries and allowances paid to them, and have been remanded until November 17, 2022.
Meanwhile, the unit and police have also arraigned at Buganda road court a one Kizito Leonard and his colleague Muganiira Apollo – Apollo being a community development officer Bukomera town council Kiboga district. They are battling charges of uttering false documents and conspiracy to commit felony.
They allegedly presented false documents to the Administrator General with intention of fraudulently acquiring certificates of no objection for 8 deceased persons, claiming that the deceased’s families agreed that they be given the letters of administration whereas not. They have been remanded until November 14, 2022.
