Hon. Elijah Mushemeza to teachers: Avoid strikes because you are poor & needy

The Sheema south Member of Parliament,Hon. Elijah Dickens Mushemeza is being castigated by different concerned people following his “sharp” comments.

Elijah is an academic, an author, and a practical politician. He is a professor of Political Science and Development Management at Ankole Western University.




He uttered out the comments during an event at Kitagata town council headquarters yesterday,25th April 2022 leaving people in Greater Bushenyi and other parts of the country giving mixed reactions.




He can be quoted: “Don’t put the President on pressure to increase salaries. Strikes won’t work. Strikes are for the rich. Teachers, you are poor & needy – and you strike! What will you eat?”.




He added that many people want jobs and can replace those striking.
