The National Resistance Movement-NRM party electoral commission chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi has revealed that the election of Mitooma district NRM chairperson will not be repeated because the complainant,Mr. Wilberforce Byaboneka was defeated by his rival Mr.Tumwekwatse Moses.
He noted that he went to Mitooma on the voting day and Mr. Byaboneka evidently lost the election but turned rowdy and abused every one including officials of electoral commission.
He said this yesterday in an interview with NBS television in Kampala. He said that the party officials will repeat voting of other positions because they never voted.
Minister Otafiire and Deputy Speaker Tayebwa Cited in the Violence. NRM Voters in Mitooma were divided alongside their top leaders; Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire minister of internal affairs and deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa as well as the district chairman Benon Karyaija.
Gen. Otafiire and team supported Mr. Wilberforce Byaboneka whereas deputy speaker Tayebwa and chairman Karyaija supported the winner and district speaker.
