
January 19, 2024. Hussein Kyeyune, a model farmer and resident of Watuba,Mabuye Luweero district central Uganda has accused Centenary Bank Uganda for terribly harassing him, and violating their Ugx30 million agriculture loan agreement.
The banks is now selling off his property yet the loan period has not yet elapsed. Hussein has been a centenary bank client for 8 years, and he is one of the many victims whose plight is never exposed.
In a January 18, 2024 statement , Centenary bank confirmed that it is aware of this matter, and due legal process is being followed to come to its conclusion.
“Upon loan default, the customer is engaged on his loan to establish reasons for defaulting and advised on alternatives for clearing the loan including proposal of new repayment plan if agreeable. Upon continued default, the customer is issued with a notice reminding him/her to settle the installment/s in arrears,” part of the statement.

Centenary Bank staff also stormed his shop and home, brutally attacked his wife leading to health complications, and stole over Ugx90 million. The victims have accused authorities for not rendering them justice.
