Former Sheema district woman Member of Parliament-MP and Uganda Human Rights Commission-UHRC commissioner Jacklet Atuhaire Rwabukurukuru Mukwana’s Uganda People’s Defence Force-UPDF bodyguard identified as Tumusiime Emmanuel is on the run after shooting Jacklet’s husband in the abdomen bringing his intestines out, as the husband was assaulting Jacklet – who was later taken into police custody at Kajjansi police station and charged with attempted murder.
All the 3 were drunk, and the 2am incident at Jacklet’s residence in Mawanyi, Bwebajja Ward of Kajjansi town council in Wakiso District on Wednesday, April 5,2023, left the victim/her husband Andrew Kiiza Olweddo (an Internal Security Organization-ISO operative) fighting for his life in the hospital in Kampala as investigations continue. The two have had family disagreements for many years, and the bodyguard has been protecting Jacklet for 4 years.
According to police sources, so far recovered include; 1 rifle AK 47 no. UPDF 56031423 with 29 rounds but one in the chamber, 03 magazines with 90 rounds in army green UPDF porch recovered from the main house under the chair in the sitting room, Jacklet’s pistol pistol number UG IND BO 1967203401 handed over to police by a private guard at Seguku doctor’s hospital – with 11 rounds (1 in the chamber) & 2 missing rounds, and others as investigations continue.
