Police in Rwampara district are holding Baguma Didas,the Community Development Officer-CDO Rweibogo town council Bugamba sub-county who has been extorting money from Parish Development Model-PDM beneficiaries.
He was arrested today,Wednesday 13th July 2022 on orders of Robert Atuhairwe Rwase, the Rwampara Resident District Commissioner-RDC after a tip-off from the residents who accused this CDO of soliciting bribes from PDM beneficiaries during group registration.
Upon arrest, he admitted to having solicited bribes from the PDM beneficiaries to enable him to make for them group constitutions and was soliciting Ugx34,000 from every group.
He’s being held at Nyeihanga Police Station and will be produced before courts of law to answer charges of corruption and disrupting government programs.
