The Vice Chancellor-VC of Bishop Stuart University-BSU, Prof. Maud Kamatenesi Mugisha has challenged the government and other stakeholders to support all mechanisms aimed at increasing internet connectivity and supporting agriculture, if Uganda and other African countries are to effectively fight unemployment especially among the youths.
Prof. Kamatenesi says the world is going digital and many jobs are now online, besides other evident changes like the demand for agricultural products also escalating yet most young people and other stakeholders aren’t embracing ways to tap into these key sectors. She stresses that besides other interventions, developing countries have to utilize ICT and Agriculture for socio-economic transformation. She further challenged graduands and other people to embrace & participate in these “activities” with “commercial intention” but not forgetting “integrity”.
This, as the university celebrates 20 years including a 17th graduation ceremony slated for 6th May 2022 at BSU riverside grounds that will be graced by President of Republic of Uganda, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni as the Guest of Honor.
