The National Animal Genetic Resources Centre & Data Bank (NAGRC & DB) and Mbarara Network of Farmers’ Voice have trained religious leaders and selected representatives from Busoga sub-region eastern Uganda,in a move to boost commercial farming/agriculture and land productivity regardless of the size of land.

During the first training at NAGRC & DB Entebbe on 12th April 2022, the group including anglicans led by Bishop Patrick Wakula of Central Busoga diocese, Seventh-day Adventist Church-SDA & other members witnessed a cow producing over 20 litres of milk and a poultry farm producing over 80 trays of eggs daily yet on a small piece of land. They vowed to implement the knowledge acquired.

According to Mr. Robert Kabatereine, the chairperson of Mbarara Network of Farmers’ Voice and Farmers Parliament,he is now organizing jointly with NAGRC to bring Muslims & more religious leaders from eastern Uganda and other parts of Uganda for the same training(s).
