Isingiro district councilors have mobilized against the Chief Administrative Officer-CAO Ms Alice Rushure, accusing her of corruption, connivance, bribery, misuse of district resources and other irregularities.
The concerned & bitter councilors have already petitioned the Local Government Ministry and the Statehouse Anti-Corruption Unit to intervene and ensure that this CAO is transferred & punished before they apply violent measures and the situation gets out of hand.
They allege that the accused is at the centre of different scandals, though she hasn’t responded to these allegations.
Recently, the district LC5 chairman Mr. Aaron Turahi warned technocrats against corruption & incompetence, following concerns where residents complained over poor quality murram & selling of fuel during road construction.
Rise News Uganda also established that there’s failure by Isingiro District Service Commission to approve government workers; many employees have been on probation for more than two years yet they are supposed to be on probation for only 6 months based on public service & local government acts.
Sources say, the CAO works with the commission to solicit money from employees – including at recruitment stage.
