The International Press Institute-IPI and partners recently held the 2025 IPI World Congress and Media Innovation Festival in Vienna Austria, October 23rd to 25th 2025 under the “Defending the Future of Free Media,” focusing on safeguarding press freedom, navigating AI disruption, tackling Big Tech’s influence, and building sustainable, independent journalism for the future, all while marking IPI’s 75th anniversary.
Media rights organizations, activists, media entrepreneurs, civil society organizations and other stakeholders continue to advocate for prioritization of support for local media to ensure grassroots impact in different communities.
