President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni will address the country today evening on matters relating to security, the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) has confirmed.
“President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will, at 8 pm, Thursday, September 7, 2023, address the Nation on Security Matters and other issues of National Importance. The address will be aired live on all TV and radio stations,” PPU statement.

The address by President Museveni comes at a time when Uganda is facing terror threats, days after the police recovered six explosives that had been planted in different places around Kampala.
One of the explosives was discovered at Pastor Kayanja’s Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral where one suspected terrorist was arrested on Sunday, 3rd September 2023.
Police and sister security agencies have now asked Ugandans to be vigilant as operations continue. The U.S. mission in Uganda has also issued warnings amid terror threats.
