Police in Mbarara City South division Mbarara City is holding a woman identified as Namale Sumaya,who appears in a viral video where she stripped naked a female 15-year-old juvenile and assaulted her in public on 2nd April 2022 at around 2pm.
The incident happened in Katete ward Nyamitanga division on allegations that the victims had stolen clothes from the suspect’s home where she has been working as a housemaid.
The Rwizi region police spokesperson,ASP Samson Kasasira has confirmed that Sumaya is in police custody as inquiries into her actions continue.
Several concerned people have condemned such acts, asking police to punish such perpetrators.
